Trouble Converting (split from PyPRP2 Information)

Postby MNOLG » Fri Jun 24, 2011 11:58 am

Drizzle29 won't convert prp files for me, and whenever I try to use the age importer in Blender, it tells me it can't because PlasmaConfigParser is undefined. Is there some kind of configuration file I need to have?

The importer wasn't really complete - it could only load the skeletons for the avatars. I didn't get it fixed up before the beta release, and leaving the menu entry there was an oversight. It's not intended to work in the current release.

PyPRP2 can't do that. The only working tool for that is still Drizzle.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

How do I use Drizzle to convert Myst V ages?
Also, why do I get this http://www.majhost.com/gallery/mirrorma ... /mystv.png error whenever I try to import a PRP or age file to Blender 2.45?

Are you sure you used the "Conversion (Simplicity)" tab, entered the path to your PotS and MystV folders and then hit "Start" next to Myst V ?
If you're not yet used to Drizzle, you should read this.

I mean to Blender, or any other mainstream format.

You could try Prp2Obj from libHSPlasma, which will export the geometry to .obj format.

Note that the resulting object will be missing all vertex colour info, and that it will have all the UV coordinates, but without any textures applied.

Where do I get that? Also, is there a working PRP import plugin for blender?

The Importer works, it's just a bit buggy sometimes, especially when it comes to converted Myst V areas:

Can you tell me which age you were trying to import, and the name of the object that threw up this error I can try and track down the problem for you and fix it. Also which version of the importer are you currently using (I believe the wiki had two listed. One just being a heavily modified version of the other that broke more than it fixed IMO.)
