Guild of Greeters

Postby Wamduskasapa » Tue Feb 05, 2013 7:02 pm

Gehn Shard is getting large enough so that it is starting to get to the point that it may be desirable to have someone to watch over and help the newbies.

What is everyone's opinion about starting a Neighborhood and a group of volunteers for that little task.???

I think it would be a good idea for us to occasional in-cavern help/greeting sessions... I don't think we're to the point of needing an extreme greeter force though.

Great idea, in general, Wam, but I believe Adam is right ... Being present/available on the forums
might be more important atm, esp. for our Shard and forums admins/mods ... :)

May I then make a suggestion

This would involve the modification of the KI. But would it be possible to add a tab for those Avatars currently on line???

Currently the only tabs that we have for the KI are for Age Players - Buddies - Neighbors

I wish mods had an All Players list at the very least, and I don't see a problem with making it available to normal players (assuming there is also added a "hide my online status [from no one] [from non-buddies] [from all players]" option in the KI options so people can opt-out).

Modifying certain parts of the KI is less than trivial at this time, however.

If you can come up with a /"hide my online status" KI code I can make a cool OUIJA board age that has two levels the top floor with the OUIJA board and the pointer

What about an imager somewhere with a list of everyone currently online? I understand that the imager in the classroom worked once; perhaps one could pick a hood, or create one for the purpose, and stream the list of current logins there. Alternatively … is there an imager in the city somewhere that could be made to work?

What Deledrius actually wanted to imply, and he might be right, is that not everyone might like the idea
of being officially online and this fact being publicly known to absolutely everybody ... I suppose everyone
here also decides, and maybe everyday differently, if they'd like to be seen as online and available on Skype,
Facebook, and whatever messenger app etc. etc. ... :)
