Bug Report: Gira Baskets and Bugs (Fireflies, too!)

Postby Annabelle » Sat Feb 04, 2012 7:45 pm

Hi,

I completed Gira/Kemo but I had to use some strategy to be able to cross the water with the flying cowards. I found only 1 basket upstairs in the upper cave where we are supposed to find 2 of them. The one in the lower cave was there. I don't know if any other explorer has run into this issue yet.

Edit: found a mistake

For some reason one of the baskets decides that it prefers the warmer lava pools to the cool ponds. This is a known issue, but thank you for confirming it. :D

Be glad you were able to complete the ages!!! I have yet to complete them, as i would lose the first basket (the one found on the lower level) as well upon returning form Kemo the second time without fail!

Here's the thing that happened (before the vault wipe):

I'm used to jump and sneak my avvie thru walls up to the upper cave. From there, I push the 2 upper baskets in the pond. Then, I use the 3rd basket the one already in lower cave. I make all the bridges then link to Kemo to grab just once the fireflies.

So I did that, it just turned out that the 3rd basket disappeared during that process (before linking to Kemo) so I placed the only basket I had for the big gap parallel to my course. As soon as I walked back with my fireflies, I litteraly forced the basket to roll under my feet so I was able to end up in lower cave without having touch the water.

After the vault wipe:

I played the normal way every explorer is used to: linking twice to Kemo, building a 1st bridge then a 2nd bridge, etc. Like Wamduskasapa said, when I linked back with my fireflies, I had only 1 basket left, fireflies all around my avvie, so I linked my 2nd avvie to rescue me. After I crossed the first bridge, she pushed the only basket left and she build a 2nd bridge (putting it parallel to my course) and she stood in the gap. It was very perilous and if it was in real life, I would have closed my eyes. I can't explain how I made it across the water with no injuries, I think my other avvie has bruises all over her body though

Lol Annabelle! It was at least very clever of you to use a second avatar to succeed... Opens up a world of mutliplayer possibilities!

As for me, after trying probably two dozen times during pre-release testing stage, i have grown heartbroken and just want to go to the garden ages and succeed the first time. Perhaps I too will have to make a second avatar so that i can do so :)

Well - I am still stuck with only one Basket

and for some strange reason my Mobile Broadband conection will not allow me to run 2 Avatars at the same time. Image It only allows me to run only one shard connection at a time. Image

This is not funny at all Wamduskasapa :( maybe you can ask someone to help you, maybe we will earn a new "multiplayer age" on that shard ;)

You must find an helper willing to get crush in the process :)

The basket has to be put parallel to your course, not centered at all or you'll fall in the gap, wet your feet and loose your flies. So less than an inch preferably (1 cm) (i'm Canadian don't try to understand "our" length system) and the big gap has to be fill by a devoted explorer.

It did work all alone too but it's kind of a roll-a-dice situation and if you're tired of not having finish Gira yet, i'd suggest strongly that you find someone.

I won't be online on that shard for a while. I kind of crash running inside the Ahnonay Cathedral and I'm not able to log back. :(

I may be a native american, But I am a retired (23 yrs) disabled Veteran (USAF). 14 of those years were spent in Europe and 6 in the Orient. I much prefered the Metric System over the confusing American system
