Nice job !
Is your Mac screen 4:3, or do you just prefer the old school aspect ratio ? Gehn Shard is the only one to have working widescreen, so I find it strange to use the smaller 4:3...

Old school I'm afraid. My iMac is widescreen but I just find it strange to play widescreen. Personal choice, I guess. I realise Ghen doesn't squeeze the avatar or distort the picture but it still doesn't feel right to me.

I can understand that. My first widescreen monitor felt as weird as having a new pair of glasses. Now I can hardly do without :)
With that said, I prefer to play MOULa in 4:3. The FOV bug is still noticeable but less annoying than in 16:9.
I still don't understand why MOULa is locked at 30 frames per seconds though...

Awesome work. :)

I don't really get wanting to play in 4:3, but hey, whatever makes you happy! ;)

Glad you were able to find a better Wine solution for Gehn. I was looking at their scripting system last week. It might be nice to set up a proper install script and submit it to their system at some point to make it easy for people to one-click install.

Oh, there’s ample room for improvements, I only know enough Bash to script some repetitive tasks :) I haven’t submitted my scripts yet, as they have been tested by about 2 people as far as I know, and some time ago. They worked for me last time I tried, so maybe I should just submit them :D

  • The Gehn script could be made OS-agnostic by defining $MOULAPATH and $SHARDPATH (the other two in fact are no longer needed) with relative paths. The problem is that I don’t know how to get the part on the left of “*/wineprefix/*”; POL doesn’t seem to define a variable for that. Then again, normally there are only two alternatives, as installing prefixes outside “$HOME/.PlayOnLinux/” or “$HOME/Library/PlayOnMac/” is only possible through symlinks.
  • It might be nice to add a prompt for an existing folder, so that the mystonline prefix wouldn’t be required, though it looks like POL_SetupWindow_browse only accepts files.
  • I think I found out how to setup exe arguments, if it works I can add the repair mode too!
