@janaba
Phew. Long thinking about it .... it would be wisely to "make peace" now. Yes. But if I looking at your first posting - I still feel flamed. Maybe this is unfair. But this "non programmer/coder" has coded a couple of 100.000 lines of code in different languages for different environments in his life and earned good money for that! So that can't have been SO bad. And this "average explorer" also supports the community as GoMe Translator in an active and positive way.

Do you still think, you gave the right description of this guy?

However, I'm looking forward, hoping to give the community as much as I can, because it should be fun, not harm. Still ignoring people, who don't like me.

... and so I close realising that perhaps ... the ending ... has not yet been written.

Pretty sure she was describing herself, not you, dude.

Oh, well now I think I see what happened!

Ron, you seem to have accidentally misread her post entirely! :D When janaba said "I'd like to confirm this as a non programmer/coder and average explorer lol" you seem to have read that she was calling you a non programmer/coder and average explorer, but the antecedent for "this" which is the subject here is branan's assurance, not yourself!

That is, she was saying (to paraphrase) "I can confirm that [The PhysX runtimes are fully backwards compatible], from the point of view someone like myself: a non-programmer."

She was not talking about you at all, although I can see why you perhaps thought so, now that you've explained your point of insult a bit more. An important thing to keep in mind is that in English, it would be exceptionally odd to casually refer to someone as "this". Usually "him" or "her" is exclusively used when possible, although it is common (yet technically incorrect) to use the plural-yet-gender-neutral "they". "This" can safely be assumed to be a thing, which in this case was branan's assurance of the safety of installing the update. She was simply agreeing that it caused no conflicts for her, even without the benefit of a technical background.

No worries. Uru is a very international community, and we have people who speak all languages and to varying degrees of fluency. Misunderstandings happen. In the future, it's probably best not to assume the worst, and ask for clarification instead. :D Thanks for the PhysX question, this is certainly something I'm sure others have wondered too, after all the annoyances with QuickTime Myst has had.

I am stunned ... That is why I love this community ... You are all so great ... You, Ron Landry, for
offering/accepting peace, still in the misconception, that is awesome ... and all of you for being
so empathetic and kind ... Thanks, guys ... :P

Yes, and I can confirm that my 'non programmer and coder' label was absolutely and only meant
as for myself ... I oftentimes add this to my posts, esp. here on these forums amidst such great
computer/programmer/coder geniuses, and me as 'the average explorer' in the presence of our
exceptional Annabelle and other interdimensionally operating specialists, so that everybody knows
who's speaking, means me as the average Joe lol, so that what I'm saying is to be taken as such ... :D

The 'sign' in this for me might be to be more bold in the future when posting, and to stop belittling
myself lol ... Yeah, what an interesting experience ... Wishing you all a great Sunday ... :)

:o  Oh dear .... ! Shame on me! :o
Luna sensed it first, but I don't apprehend it. Thank you very very much, Delerius, "stupid me" finally got it now! Oh my!

 So my first apologize goes to janaba. I withdraw from every word, which may have harmed you! Sorry to have annoyed you all ! Please accept my apology. Well, let's try, to see the funny side and remember this all-time-wisdom: Shit happens! And if it happens, Murphy may be not far away, sometimes.

(Now, I asked myself, why I didn't understand janaba's first posting immediately. I think I have to be a little bit more careful, when interpreting postings)
... and so I close realising that perhaps ... the ending ... has not yet been written.

This reminds me of the well-known 'Young Lady / Old Lady' picture which tells in a simple (or confusing) way that our perception of things
is changing all the time lol and thus confirms your above mentioned wisdom ... :P

What makes our experiences in life valuable, which is what happened here in a wonderful way, is, when everybody approaches and explores
whatever issue as open-minded and respectful as possible to the perceptions and stances of others and to not being devided over whatever
in the end even if there wouldn't be a consensus, which would also be perfect as we're all uniquely different ... Yeah, thanks all, very nice ... :)

 That's great!

I was wondering all this time why the "self-oriented" sentence of Janaba was flaming at this point Ron. :D

All that time, she was, indeed, talking about her not being a programmer, a coder.

All is well now and I'm pretty glad!
