Bug Report: Bahro Stone Usability

Postby Ron Landry » Sun Mar 04, 2012 7:34 pm

These items are not dramatically. One can use the Bahro Stones regardless of following vulnerabilities:

After clicking a Bahro Stone, the "mouse mark" should be shown as filled circle if pointing to the bahro picture, and as empty circle if outside, I think.
  1. But empty circle / filled circle changes radomly, if moving around. So to get the filled circle, and thereby get the opportunity to link, one may have to "jiggle" a bit with the mouse.
  2. The sensitive region (for some Bahro Stones) is poor focused to the picture. So if you click beside the picture, while "mouse mark" is a filled circle, you MAY randomly link, depending on "mouse mark" position.

detected for which Bahro stones:
to Ae'guera in Bevin Linking Room, to Kadish in Ae’guera (on the ledge at the back of the Library),
to Descent in Ae'guera (Tokotah Alley), to Teledahn in Ae'guera (Ferry Terminal, tunnel), in Gahreseen,

detected when:
Sunday, March 4th, after 02:30 pm

detected with:
Gehn.5 Live!
... and so I close realising that perhaps ... the ending ... has not yet been written.

Excellent report! Thanks for the extra details. :)

Unfortunately, this is a known bug introduced by changes Cyan made for MOUL. Although I haven't yet looked into this particular bug, I strongly suspect it's something that will need to be fixed in the data files for the GUIs themselves, and not the engine code. :(

An interim workaround which has been effective for me personally is to aim for the top of the linking panel (or slightly above). The hotspot seems to be shifted up there for some strange reason.

For me the hotspot is always in the right half of the picture. Resolution dependent perhaps?

My experience also shows that it shows up on the right side..

Hotspot on the right half? Maybe, but I don't catch an eye on that. I'm using low resolution: 800x600.
Thanks, deledrius. I'm just working on more serviceable postings. :)

Interesting. Definitely a possibility worth looking into.
