Bug report: Big KI restriction in foreign languages

Jogi has found this problem in Gehn v.7 Live! first (look here), but nobody seems to has realized it until now. Deledrius has assumed this is a problem with Jogi's data files, but I don't think so. I have explored it now -- and I agree with Jogi !!! Problem may be that it is a little bit difficult do imagine. So I have added some screenshots here.

If you have started Gehn v.8 LIve! in german (I suppose this is the case not only in german), and you are standing in front of a D'ni Imager (for example in a neighborhood) permitted to add images, then the Big KI will not open, even not with F2 key. Only the Big KI light indicator toggles. You can't take a KI snapshot, even not with F5 key, you can't create journal entries. The only thing you can do is closing the Mini KI by pressing the "put away" indicator.

Please refer to the added screenshot.

EDIT April 28th: This problem is limited to italian an german language. It doesn't exist for french and spanish language, as far as I have checked.

Note: as Deledrius has pointed out for Gehn v.7 Live here, the language support is currently spotted due to old and incomplete transations. Even considering this I found it appropriate to write this bug report.

Excellent bug wrangling! Yes, I've been able to duplicate it here now, using the Relto imager as well as the 'hood imager.

I'll take a look at my logs and see if I can't track this down. Thanks, Jogi and Ron Landry! This is precisely the kind of bug I want to find and fix in the language code.

Nice to hear! I suppose, this complete invisible Big KI depends on some weird conditions thru missing translation strings. Adding or correcting them may re-establish the Big KI "automatically" (just my assumption).

No, the translation exists. It looks like it may be a Unicode conversion problem in the KI trying to do stuff with strings incorrectly.

I'm working on a patch for this... :)

I am happy again. This unexpected turn prevents me from kicking off my computer equiment. ;) ;)

(Dear pupils, do learn your vocabulary! - I didn't! This spares you from embarrassingly wrong statements in a foreign language. )

Thanks, Ron, you took me out of my singularity in this case. :!:

I think I've solved it. ;)

Until this patch is tested and reviewed for the next Gehn build, try to avoid using your KI near imagers if you're playing in German or Italian.

Just tested this more thoroughly and can confirm this partially ... :P

I switched to German, logged in and I can take screenshots F5, I can write messages F6, but in the moment
I approach the imager in my Relto the KI freezes completely and I cannot do anything anymore, even not opening
it and I also cannot logout properly anymore as the X normaly appearing when moving the cursor to the bottom right
doesn't appear anymore ... I didn't call my Taskmanager yet, instead I linked to my neighborhood to see if that worked
and anything would unfreeze, but it didn't yet, though I could log out properly then as the big X at the bottom showed up again ...
Weird ... heh? ... lol ... :D

Just saw your message Deledrius, also saw you roaming on the Shard lol ... So, let's wait and see or better switch to
English for now or in general as I will do lol... :)

Edit: Just in case it could be useful and as those files are very small from a one time test
today, I've uploaded the Python.0.elf file and the LocalizationDataMgr.0.elf file to MediaFire ... :P

That's right. As far as you keep yourself away from an imager.

The KI does not freeze completely janaba, but the only thing you can do is closing it. Please refer to the first image of my first posting., use the tiny button at the six'o clock position! And if you notice the state of the light indicator, it indicates the state of Big KI. If it is on, the Big KI expansion window is opened (even though you see nothing). But when the Big KI is opened you never have access to the game closing symbol X in the lower right! So that is no bug.

Haha, cool ... How can you say what MY KI did lol? ... My KI froze completely. Period ... :P

And it really did. I couldn't do anything anymore, neither open it, no button shown
in your beautiful pictures worked, no-thing was available anymore, even not the
big X and before summoning my Taskmanager lol I decided to link to my hood
to see if I could do that or anything else at all and to see what would happen ...
And that was it, and I was glad that at least I could activate the proper quit
facility through X again ... :)

Okay, sorry, then I have misinterpreted your previous posting.
