The Pellet Drop

Postby Wamduskasapa » Wed Jan 02, 2013 5:16 am

I am curious as to who else is dropping pellets

At 0329 on 2 Jan my Avatars have the following statistics

Black Snake (28272) of GoW (05) Score 136636 (an average of 976 per drop)

Crazy Snake (12181) of GoW (13) Score 136548 (an average of 975 per drop)

Wamduskasapa (12181) of GoW (01) Score 135893 (an average of 971 per drop)

I've been dropping a few pellets (using the Bahro cave formula) just to check everything was working - not as seriously as you have, Wamduskasapa - in my Avvies' hoods: GoW 8, 11, 14, 17 and 21 - I've not been adding to your totals in GoW 1, 5 or 13! You may have found a glitch? My only glitch was that GoW 14 had become private somehow - and I found I couldn't drop pellets there, even with the Avvie that was a member, until I made it public again. Maybe that's normal, though.

For the Pellet Drops there are several recipes

for the Bahro Caves the recipe is 40 30 20 for all ovens
Image

The following oven settings give an average reading (per pellet) of 950 to 1009
BTW I have all Vats filled and running

the 3 hour wait time setting for all ovens is 30 30 30
Image

Now you need to check out this map
Image

First 2 hour wait time setting oven 4 set to (19.5 45 19.5) and all other ovens set to (19.5 Max 45)

Second 2 hour wait time setting oven 4 set to (19.5 Max 19.5) and all other ovens set to (19.5 Max Max)

Thanks, that's great to know! I knew about 30 30 30 but didn't know there were any quicker recipes.

Make sure that you know which oven is Number four

if you get it wrong the settings won't work - unless you have all of the vats filled and the impellers are running

Maybe it was beginner's luck but my first batch using one of your fast recipes just averaged 970 without my knowing how to fill vats or what impellers are! Are the impellers the circular ponds with the rotating paddles? I've always switched them all off and drained the ponds as soon as I got the chance! If I can get good scores (not quite as good as yours of course) without messing with them, I may just settle for this! Or will something bad happen if I carry on?

If you look at the above map you will see that vat #1 is connected to oven #4. Vat #1 is the vat that you were not able to control. The other 3 vats you could turn off the impellers, open grate and drain.. During the beta we found that 50% of the time it worked without activating all vats. The rest of the time all we got were steam and bubbles.

If you want to have some fun here are 6 recipes
for Steam and Bubbles here are 3 recipes

Oven 4 45-10-15 All Others = 45-10-50
Oven 4 45-20-15 All Others = 45-20-50
Oven 4 45-50-15 All Others = 45-50-50

for explosions here are 3 recipes

Oven 4 32-30-10 All Others = 32-30-25
Oven 4 32-35-10 All Others = 32-35-25
Oven 4 32-50-10 All Others = 32-50-25

Aha, that may be what I'm doing wrong in Complete Chronicles (and the shards that use it), I keep getting the steam and bubbles even though the recipe is right.

Personally I prefer the short 2 hour wait I am JUST too impatient to wait 3 hours

Besides that you just as well close of the tunnel passage - you really don't need it anymore.

Make sure the settings match my pictures

I personally have been using the 19.5 Max 19.5 -- 19.5 Max Max forever and get readings from 975-985 average for a 5-pellet drop consistantly..I too opt for the 2 hour wait time...thanks for the explosion pellet recipe  ...I lost that some time back.
