I was puzzled by the report because, as you mentioned, you were in game before this issue started appearing; however, branan made an excellent suggestion in IRC that I think explains this issue.

It looks like your PC is infected with some crapware (and/or viruses). I noticed when you were online earlier that your Internet Explorer was telling the forum it had a "BTRS" addon installed, which appars to be ad-ware, from what google tells me. You should probably download and use a well known (and trusted) crap cleaning utility such as Spybot S&D. Be sure to use the free version! Also, I wold recommend installing a free antivirus if you do not already have one. I would recommend avast! as a good starting point. If you find any of that too difficult, I'm sure we or your local computer shop can help. Whatever you do, you must beware of scams when trying to deal with crapware. Never pay for programs, never call a support hotline you've seen on TV, and most certainly do not take your computer to Best Buy's "Geek Squad." Those things will end up making the problem worse.

Once you've managed to do all of that, you should visit the Microsoft Update site to download and install the latest updates for Windows. This will help prevent future infections of crapware.
