Soooo ... what does that mean? Could anything have infected the file? Or does it just look suspicious to Norton because that is too cautious? Could then the parts that look suspicious to AV-Software be identified and modified? Otherwise, maybe a remark should be added to the download instructions that it could happen that AV-Software falsely detects the file as virus infected.

That's just a false positive. Very irritating, but apparently Norton treats everything as suspicious. Not sure what's triggering it specifically, but from a quick search it appears to be a common issue with them. It's clean according to a lot of other scanners. If you have an easy way to mark it as a false positive, please do so. It might help prevent the issue in the future for yourself as well as others.

I believe its simply not a well known program to Symatec, and the program chooses to air on the side of caution until told to do otherwise

That seems to be the case, which is a really horrible idea for an automated piece of software. There's a big difference between "I don't know this thing" and "I suspect this might be malicious" and conflating the two helps no one. In fact, by making it necessary to ignore it, it makes the situation worse in the long run (like the over-active UAC in Windows leading people to turn it off entirely).

I agree this is a bad thing. Also is it just me or is the shard down again.

Yeah, it was down for a bit. There still appears to be an instability in the server we haven't tracked down that was introduced in the previous build, but I'm looking for it right now.

Congrats to the Guild for another fine release! And thank you to everyone who's commented on the (admittedly) minor but meaningful changes to the Pub. My time lately has been devoted more to a project I've been working on with Nev'yn for a couple of years now (on and off). I teased it at this month's All Guilds Meeting and have been posting about it a bit on Facebook.

So what's in store for the Pub? First and foremost, some holiday decorations! So far, these will be for December's various holidays, Thanksgiving/fall decor, and probably one for the D'ni New Year as well, but I'm open to other suggestions of course. After that, the endgame will be to find that storeroom key to unlock it and, eventually, reveal what's behind those curtains upstairs. :P

I've got more in the works and I hope to share it with all the various shards and all of you. I'll keep you posted!

P.S. There's now a mildly amusing gag/Easter egg somewhere in the Pub for those crafty enough to get to it. :D
