A friend and I found this recently and have been hoping to play but have been struggling as it's not a particularly intuitive process. We've been trying every guide we can find and most of them say the same thing but it doesn't quite work.

So far we've been able to get our KIs and add each other as buddies. We've been able to get into each other's Relto and we've both finished the Cleft. We can get into one of the next ages together by both visiting one of our Relto and then using the bookshelf - but that is quite cumbersome and the invite process that lots of links describe seems a lot better.

When we send an invite to the age visitor list then it is received but it doesn't show up in the Private Links - not sure why.

Also, when we were in one of the ages we found a cloth that teleported us somewhere else that we couldn't just go back from - it didn't seem to be part of the level - was wondering what that was about?

There is little advice I can give that you haven't found already. Uru was designed before many of the grouping mechanics we take for granted in modern MMOs were standard, and the developers didn't really take advantage of the working examples that did exist at the time either. Unfortunately this means that playing with friends, while rewarding, can be extremely awkward and inconvenient in Uru. Keep at it and you'll get the hang of the little idiosyncrasies; it's not impossible to play as a group, it's just an unintended puzzle of its own.

This is one of the many gameplay-related problems we'd love to fix, but doing so would require changing some deep assumptions made by the game.

This one sounds like a bug, though. You should be able to use the Nexus instead of meeting in Relto every time. Thanks for reporting it!

Thanks for the reply. I can understand why it would be a problem to fix. We'd be more than happy to play with the invite system as if one of us dies, or teleports somewhere where we can't go back then at least we can return to the age without my having to drop out and take them back to the Relto. Hopefully that bug is fixed soon because we are looking forward to playing.
