Tool for making tutorial videos

Hi all,

I've been thinking about the Age-building tutorials, and I wonder whether it might be possible to record what shows on the screen and the keystrokes used as someone is using the tutorial. (On the mac, there's an option called "show keyboard viewer", which creates a visual representation of the keyboard showing all the strokes as they're being made.) Something like this program might be used for the actual recording.

Does anyone think this is possible or worthwhile?

Oh yes!

I have seen some tutorials done, using the similar program "Wink".

I have never seen this done, but it is probably good if one can use a large colourful mouse pointer in these tutorials and wiggle it around a lot, to help the viewer see where the action is. :7

A good one I had used in the past was Camtasia, but it bogged my game down when I was doing in game videos, then I switched to fraps
