Besides, tags are for tagging releases, branches are for new, potentially breaking, features. This is something you will find that I am not budging on, so from now on, I'm not going to even entertain the suggestion that releases be branched from a tag. Released versions should only have non-breaking, simple bug fixes committed to them anyway.
