Planned Downtime: January 19

Post by Tsar Hoikas »

Our provider will be doing major datacenter maintenance on January 19th (west coast USA). They have announced a maximum of 24 hours of downtime but offer a "best case" scenario of 15 hours. As the window is large, you should be prepared for all Guild of Writers internet resources, including the forum, site, wiki, and the Gehn Shard, to be unavailable for that day. Please note that the Deep Island Shard runs on a different server and will not be affected.

Downtime is always frustrating, but this will come with several benefits--namely improved network connectivity :)

On a totally unrelated note, the forum now supports Tapatalk for a better mobile experience.

Deep Island runs on its own server, so if I remember to tell it that the board is down it should work fine.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Besides that this is great for all using and appreciating this feature I'd like to ask a question to that unrelated note ...
Can it be that our smilies got disrupted somehow on the way to implement this new option or have they always been
like that and I didn't realize it yet? ... :)

Another mistake I made doing some behind-the-scenes work. I've fixed that problem :geek:

Minor Correction: We will go offline around "19 January at 2130h PST (9:30 PM GMT-8)" according to the provider.
