Hi, I see on the map here...
http://alcugs.almlys.org/Ahra_Pahts
...that shells are listed as being either commercial, industrial, residential, or community. What exactly does this mean? If I register for an industrial shell and build a commercial building will I be in trouble? Is it like, a recommendation or a requirement?

Welcome, CrimsonMatt!

It's really a recommendation, not a requirement. We'll be happy to add whatever shell you come up with to the city!

Of course what they're not telling you, is that you'll be taxed differently depending on location and type of construction...

Commercial = zoning board
Industrial = carbon taxes
Residential = HMOs

I say go for community.

Hippie community = free sex and weed
