I believe the slanted version will be used in Ahra Pahts, holding linking books leading to the nexus. I think there will be several of them throughout the city, so it is easy to get to the nexus and then to other parts of the city.

The flat version will be used in the actual nexus because they need to be accessible from all sides.

Very nice. I can't wait to see those in the city. It's not a real age until you got at least one book on its pedestal in there. :)

Speaking of books.. we'll need some. It's not the hardest thing to do, but it's important. Might as well start a seperate topic for that though.

Wow, great job! :)
I think it will fit in with Ahra Pahts perfectly.

(Now then... it seems I have a lot to catch up on!)

Hey, Besharen:

Do you have any updates regarding the city and nexus linking pedestals?
Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.

Yes, I've been experimenting with adding in round lines on the sides like Alyos suggested. I have a couple different versions done, that I'll let you guys chose from. I'll post them as soon as I can get on the computer that has the files on it (but that might not be until tomorrow...)

Sorry for the long delay in updates, I’ve been busy with other things like past couple days (like the forum skin)

Ok, so here’s what I came up with. I know it’s completely different from the concept art (again), so I’ll happily change it again. Heh heh, no matter how hard I try to get it to look like the concept, it always comes out differently when I model it. I'm really bad that way...

Also, I don't think these curves to very well with the Ahra Pahts style...they just don't look right.

Personally, I don’t like it as much like this. I find it get too complicated for something as small and simple as a pedestal. So remember we DO NOT need to use this, I was just fooling around with them.

Curves.

Just the top curves

Just the bottom curves.

We could also have it so the bottom curves don’t stick out as much.

And, of course, we have the original without curves.

I don't know...I think the simple one is the best. Or I could restart them...

Wow Besharen, you have great skill as a modeller.

Personally, I don't like how the curves stick out. It doesn't look bad, I just don't like it. I think picture #4 looks the best (all curves inlaid).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...it just doesn't look right...too fake maybe.

If we do have them inlaid, it might be better to just have the curves part of the texture and cut down on objects.

I like the one with just the sticking out curves, not the top ones. But I like all of them, really :)
