Kinda sorta halfway, you mean.

It's complicated.

That's what I was told. And given the awful loading times for AhraPahts I'm inclined to believe it. :)

Yeah, unless you can have multiple instances of objects you're pretty much screwed. Imagine with all the shells full of polys.

I seriously doubt any change like that will change the load times, especially when the city is half full of content.

Ae'gura though loads the prp which the player links in and all visible areas, then loads the rest after the player is in the age?

Vis regions though are something that will definitely be of use to reduce the amount of visual lag, limiting people to store their shell inside this vis region, and if their shell goes over the wall, setup a fence/windows that will render seperately from the rest of the shell when viewed from outside.

hopefully visibility toggling can be done on a per-page basis, and won't require shell builders to do anything special.

As for the city, I believe it loads all pages and objects at link in, and just changes which are drawn, affecting performance, but not load times. (I could be wrong though)

Relevancy Regions are really what we're after here.

I'm going to look into them this weekend.

So anything outside a relevancy region is irrelevant?

Resistance is futile

Anything outside the relevanceRegion (as defined in the .csv file) is not rendered.

We can essentially hide half the city as long as there is no way that it can be seen from a certain area.
