Personally I'd rather have you fix as much as possible to have a plugin as stable as possible. So I vote for having the regions fixed first.

Indeed. Best to have climbing and cameras fixed before releasing anything, as they're generally more heavily used, and a lack of climbing or swimming may break age mechanics by preventing travel.

By "sound regions"; do you mean footsteps or the actual new sound regions?

footstep regions for now - but in truth, footstep regions and other sound regions differ from each other only slightly - just in the type of message used...

Trylon:

I'd like to volunteer to write conversion scripts that will make any age compatible with the new plugin. From what I can tell, it will require the following translations:

- Create a Blender material and a Blender texture for each UV-mapped mesh that doesn't have these
- Set the Blender rigid body settings for each collider (and remove the associated properties)
- Write an AlcScript for all the objects that have properties:
- Camera regions
- Clickable objects
- Swim regions & currents
- Ladder regions
- Footstep regions
- Sprites
- Lights

Let me know if I've forgotten something, or if I have something incorrect. I can start on this next week.

EDIT: I just noticed your post about the conversion wizard for books you added to the latest plugin release. I'll try to follow that example for the other features.

A question: since so much stuff is changing compared to the old Alcugs tutorials...

... is anyone working on new tutorials? I have most of the Alcugs ones in a binder to refer too. We will all have to learn the "new" (and improved) ways and we all want to use them as soon as possible.

I smell an opportunity for a new Wiki here ;) ;)

Ok, camera's are working again - some stupid idiot (yeah, that would be me)forgot to make sure that the camera's had a coordinate interface..

Oh, and since camera's can be parented, it should allow for some interesting stuff once the need arises :)

Are talking about camera movement?

Maybe even fly-bys then? :o
Now if only we could have those on the linking panels.. *grumbles something about non-sensical design decisions*
