Fens Journal

Waveset's out (too large) and some new little surprises are in. Waiting on some stuff from Kiril. New, smaller islands are arriving to break up the never-ending sea of pea soup the age has turned into.

Mini-islands are in.

Current issues:

Shoreline problems (improper modeling and scaling).
Fantails are too high up (they were initially on the waveset, which was higher than the scum-plane they're hovering over now)
Fallen Tree (needs work done on it in terms of proper modeling and weathering)
Glowers are dead (still need to get the lights working)

Shoreline scum has been completely redone so it looks better.
Most of the glowers have been brought back to life. The bug which limits the number of lights still has issues with some of them.

I have been wanting to visit this age since I first saw the pics on Tweek's Blog. Yes I would love to have a look when it is ready. :D :D

"Fantails" set to the proper height.
Random sounds are set properly (thanks to D'lanor for helping me work it out).
Collisions are streamlined.
Excess vertices purged.
Some mushrooms are cleared away.
Additional mini-islands added.
Classification notebook updated with Tweek's observations.

Fens is (almost) ready (again :P)! Version 4.x only needs a couple additions and it will be sent to the Maintainers for proofing.

Fens is available!

At long last, Fens is available through the ULM. Download it now and explore! If you have an idea (name, life-cycle, pretty much anything) about the various plants or animals in the Age, send it to me by email, PM, any way you'd like. I'll be updating this age when I get observations from explorers.

Have fun!

The ULM download shows 2 files missing: fens_dist01.ogg and fens_dist02.ogg

D'oh! :P

Somehow the sfx files weren't copied over. They should be fixed now.

Wow, that age is really great :) I especially like the background sounds. But visually it's also very nice. Great work, keep it up :)
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
