Simple point:

Who says that you have to describe the person directly. Perhaps this writer wrote about a world that would be perfectly suitable to rear the person of his/her dreams.

He made the machine that created his perfection. :)

While you cannot write specifics for a single person, could you not set up a scenario where the attributes one finds attractive would be fostered.

You could and that is the fun thing, Cyan never really explained Atrus's constant edits to Riven, or Ghen's sweeping edits when Atrus was being trained. Micro versus Macro is all that can really be assumed from those examples. If the Writers Guild manage NPC's no matter how bad a romeo and juliet hack job it is story wise people will be impressed, but if you can hit even "passable" on the story meter I don't think there is anyone that wouldn't play through it.

Assume time is a fixed variable unless your friends with the Bahro, so you can have a run of bad try's to save juliet as you remove countless poisons from the Age. The boulder that crushed her house can be shifted to land elsewhere (Probably crushing someone else), and so on. Most of this could happen in journals and NPC speeches with very little except the aftermath of this fools final set of meddling having to really be shown. If the story can be really well done this sort of idea could be a hoot to play out even though it would be a one shot story age. Do let us Maintainers know if you build it this idea deserves to have been played out in MO:UL but with just the forums it could go just as well.
