Explore this age

Postby it's me » Sun Apr 04, 2010 4:28 am

Hi, I like to share my idea for an age. Sadly I’m not very technical, so I can’t make it. I’m just dreaming. Trying Blender now, but it will take time. And first I got to get this age out of my head and on o paper.I will make some drawings and Sculptris files.

I don’t have a name for the age yet, but I Think it is and Eder. I like a name specialist, to think about that one.
About the storyline, writing is not my thing (can I say that here?) l but tried. If any of you can do better please do!

It is an Uru age, and therefore it will only be disclosed, by you solving puzzles. That way an explorer can do just that, and I can test the puzzles. So first stage, until someone solves the puzzle.

You link in on a ledge with vegetation. On one side there is a deep cliff that will send you back to Relto. Larges stones on the other side. When you walk along the stones you pass a wooden gate, it’s closed.
(image1)Image
When you walk on you find 4 hanging handles, and underneath on the ground are the D’ni numbers: 1 2 3 4 .
(image2)Image
Could be that you have to move some small rocks to see these numbers. If you look close you see the handles are connected to the gate. What do you do?

For the ones that can open this file .The Sculptris file is a model of the age without the puzzles, vegetation and water. The rocks that it’s build upon.

I wished i could make such nice drawings of my ideas before starting to model.
very nice, kudos.
I like the puzzle, and downoaded your file.( which was a puzzle in itself before i succeeded.)
I am searching for a way to open the file, i do not know the format.

And welcome to the forum!
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

Ithink the only way to open the file is with Sculptris, a very nice tool, only stil in alpha stages. I found it somewhere on this forum.
you can get the program at : http://www.drpetter.se/project_sculpt.html
and thank you.

You have a cool style of drawing, brings across a delicious Mystesque appeal that I find a lot of related art lacks, imho! :D

If this puzzle and future puzzles are so off the wall that I'll be thinking for ages about it then I'm so happy right now!
Especially if it's one of those things that seems SO simple when you work it out and think "whaaat, cohhh was so close all those times!!" or something.

Right... I'd be a fool if I didn't push on the door at least once but knowing my luck it'd be a sliding door! ...by the looks of it the handles logically extend and retract up and down from that gate attachment, if they are like this then I'm stabbing in the dark even more, because I can't see anything to refer lengths to... OH ! maybe the gate; the gate has groups of slats - so maybe just pulling on the handles and they retract so you can pull again if you so wish. If the latter here is true then the order would either be 4-2-4-2-2-3-1 or 2-2-2-2-3-3-1-1-1-1 or 1-1-3-3-3-3-2-2, the first is less enormously time consuming and repetitive so I'd start there then attempt the third combination and lastly the middle combination. If there's still no dice, I'd examine the gate markings closer and probably fall off the cliff many times trying to find something that's not there... After that - I'm lost. :? 8-)

trying to find something that's not there, you do find a clue!
behind a plant is a carving in the rock it says 'the gate is the key'
but you got that already ....
