Age Idea (Description Only)

I'm kind of new to this but hopefully this may spark some interest. I do plan to do some concept art later.

Ul Asayish: The Islands of Light

Concept: An archipelago of islands in the sea. The land has perpetual daylight and various shrines have been built in honor of the prosperity of the land.

Back-story: During the times of exploration and trade amongst the D’ni, the Age of Ul Asayish was a successful Age that the D’ni was able to make peace and trade goods with. Now the islands are empty as the original inhabitants set out for new lands.

Puzzles: Fishing Shrine, Harvest Shrine, Stone Shrine, Light Shrine, Main Temple.

Puzzle Descriptions and Solutions
• Fishing Shrine
o The shrine is located along the inner coast of the island village dedicated to fish. A large aqueduct style mechanism extracts water from the sea and filters it to be used as drinking water while the waterwheel powers the light beacon inside the shrine
o The solution to the puzzle deals with a specific fish symbol used in honor of the sea. The player must find the color that represents the fish in one of the huts in the village along with the correct symbol. Four colors: Yellow, Green, Blue, and Red and four styles of fish. The correct color and pattern will be on a tapestry in the one of the more elaborate huts.

• Harvest Shrine
o This island’s shrine is located on a hill near the fields where they harvested their crops. The shrine was designed to make bread and be powered by a weight and pulley system to power the light beacon.
o The solution to this puzzle deals with proper weight distributions of grains. Six different weighted bags will apply a certain amount of weight to their pedestal. The closer the person is to solving the puzzle is by the two machines powered by the various weights. To find the correct the weights, in one of the huts is a chart of each bag symbol and how much is in the bag. To create the ideal “bread”, the answer to that is on another paper in a different hut where a large oven is at.

• Stone Shrine
o This islands shrine runs by melting down specific ores to power the beacon. This island was heavily assisted by the D’ni and as a result it is the most modern. Aside from powering the beacon, the melted down ores were used to create tools for the fishermen and farmers.
o The solution to this puzzle comes from the energy emitted from each ore. Five ores that are at the shrine need to be used in a certain order to create the correct energy for the beacon. Each ore has a specific shape. In one of the forging areas for tools it indicates what each ore when melted will give off. It will also give off specific combinations used for tool making and a third combination that gives only the color. The trick is to combine the two tool types and create the final combination to power the light beacon.

• Light Shrine
o This island is mostly used as a part of the Main Shrine puzzle. As a result it will mostly contain clues on how to solve the main shrine puzzle.
o This beacon doesn’t have a puzzle to power it other than requiring the other beacons to be aligned correctly in order for the last portion of the main shrine puzzle to be solved.

• Main Temple
o The island contains symbols that represent each of the islands. Once all of the beacons have been alighned correctly, the lock of the temple’s inner sanctum will open. The rewards is a new linking book to be in the player’s library to access the new books for the line of exploration Ages.

Topographical Information: Five large islands surrounded by water but have a navigational system to access each island. If the player should try to swim from island to island, the current will be strong enough to pull them back to the main island. The island with the main temple will be in the center while the other islands surround the area.
