Age help!

Hey guys! :)
I'm new to the guild of writers so I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not. Oh well... I've been working on my own Myst ages for the past year. So far I have gotten literally nothing set in place... every time I make a concept sketch I end of hating it. So now I finally decided to make an account here and ask you guys what you think.

I can't think of a name for this age to save my life... any ideas? If so that would help A TON!
Also any other feedback would be AWESOME.

Hi Kyle,
personaly i think the name of your age is not the most important,. Important is the endresult . How it looks and feels to be there.

Before you start building the concept you have drawn,
first learn modelling in Blender or 3dmax. and learn it good.! Learn texturing.
Make some simple objects like vases, lamps tables, plants, rocks etc.
make a simple room , a cube will do fine.
place your abjects in it.
learn to export it.
visit your cube.

Once you have done that, go back to your concept and try to build it.
Ask your questions where you need help.
By the time you did this all,a proper name will come into your mind one day. Building is working day after day.
Its great to do, but its like piano playing.
You have to do excercices, day after day only to be able to perform your masterpiece as the crown of your work.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

Thank you for your reply dendwaler, but I've already got the modeling under control.
You mentioned "asking my questions when needed"... I will surely listen to your advice. :)
But before I can go any farther with this age, I need to know if other people think its a good concept, or if I am completely crazy.

Welcome to the Guild of Writers, Kyle.

At a first sight, I like the concept.
Thinking about a name since some minutes now, but it's a bit difficult without knowing a bit more.
It is a small Age, a large Age? A place to just hang around and relax, like a garden Age, or to solve puzzles?
Is its main color tone green, because of plants, or more brown, or grey?
Is there water around the mountains, or just ground?

I can't help, but looking at the map, the number 7 comes into my mind. Seven Hills. What's the D'ni word for seven again?

I suppose it would be considered a small-ish age. About the size of the ages in the original Myst game if that helps any. It would be a puzzle age, like Ahnonay in the sense that you constantly have to link in and out of the main area.
It is a water age. Everything is water except for the mountains (which are grey) and the board walk (which is brown).
I really like the idea of the D'ni number 7, that was a great idea, thanks tachzusamm.

I also just quickly sketched out the mountains. Not sure if this sketch would help visualize it any better, but here it is anyway.

I really like it!
This age reminds me a lot about Channelwood for some reason. Maybe just the walkways and water.
Also any chance you can make a sketch of one of the domes?

Yes, I will make a sketch of the domes, I already have a pretty good concept in mind.
Both those names sound pretty cool, chances are I'll probably use one of them. :)

The D'ni word for 7 is "vagabree." The D'ni word for rock is "prad." Perhaps Vagabree Prad (Seven rocks)? Just a suggestion. I don't know if it really has much ring to it haha.

Anyway, the concept looks good! Keep at it :)
