Texture request

Postby Whilyam » Mon Dec 10, 2007 8:36 pm

Shorah! I have a texture request (which you may not have been able to decipher by the title of the topic...)

I need a fairly large image of swampy/grimy water. Like a stagnant pond only a fairly large picture of stagnant pod-quality water. Should be suitable enough to make semi-transparent as a kind of dirty water overlay.

Thanks for any help! :D

Those are disgustingly good.

Ah yes, I remember that site. I was avoiding internet-found textures to avoid any nitpicks with copyrights. I know he's got them all free, but oh well. Thanks! Those are great.

I live in Central New Jersey, I can find stagnate water easily within a 5 mile radius. If I have time to walk around, I'll see if I can find a completely original shot for you.

I gots me a really nice digital camera too......

Ooh, BAD--I don't suppose you could grab me some too? I'm trying to model the Carboniferous swamp forest, and some noncopyrighted stagnant water pics would be perfect. Many thanks! :)

Also take a look at how the water in Ercana is done. Cyan uses several textures for the stuff in the water. Decals to be precise. Open PRPExplorer and browse to Ercana's textures. I suggest you don't use one biggie, but a watertexture that tiles and several decals for variation en details. Much more efficient.

I'm working on a swamp age too. Unluckily we don't really have swamps in Holland so Google Images is the only research source I have.
