Abandoned temple

Abandoned temple

Postby Chacal » Sun Jan 20, 2008 1:53 pm

My first real Age (which I'll begin when two conditions are met: the new plugin is documented and I have time to concentrate on Age building), will be inspired by this great concept art I found, called "fallen beauty".

The entire Age will be inside the ruined structure, exterior trees will be for atmosphere only, much like those in Jalak.
The atmosphere I'd like to aim for will be pretty much the same as in Book of D'ni, part four, when the explorers from D'ni link to the abandoned temple in Terahnee.

What's that concept art for? It reminds me of the game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (excellent game BTW ;)).

As far as documentation...wiki is open :)

It sounds like a great idea!

Here's the artist's page on it:

He doesn't state a purpose.

...but what an extraordinary setting. Quite a bit different though, than the last time I was at the Natural History Museum. Your version of it reminds of a Gothic Ankor Wat. Where are the monkies? I'll bet there are ugly gobble gators in that beautiful and innocent little pond?

Let us hear more of your preliminary thinking on this. Afterall, you can't suddenly start programming when you get the green light on the plugin, if you don't have it planned out. [Or can you? Or do you want to?]

Really. Tell us about it.

Pretty, isn't it?
I don't have a story or even any background in mind. It will be a discovered Age.
Maybe I'll let visitors struggle to find an explanation and then use the most likely...

I do have another Age in mind that will be almost all story and sound, the geometry will only act as visual support for the tale.
