Use of Linking Panels

Belatedly: sorry, I didn't realize that we were talking about links to stuff already in Uru:CC. Perils of not having a clue.

I agree with (I guess) everybody that you only need to worry about the ownership of files you distribute in your Age package.

In the course of playing Uru CC with the ULM, I'd say yes, for reasons stated above. As the title track of one's new techno-funkabilly album, possibly not.

I would have to agree, that since the files are already there, and as long as you don't include the files (which would not make any sense anyway as they are already there) there should not be a reason that we can not use Uru's sound files.

Now, if you take their sound files, and mod it in some way, then include it with your Age, I would say, yes, that you're violating their copyright, by messing with their sound file, and then distributing it.

In that particular case, I would highly recommend making your own.

Saying the linking panels are a copyright violation, would make the Avatar, footstep sounds, the KI, etc, all copyright violations.

Exactly.

For that matter, wouldn't that definition make the use of CC itself a copyright violation?
