(generic)logic region problems

Postby Goofy » Sat Mar 29, 2008 9:04 pm

ummm why do I see the region when I render it and after I export it? I was messing around with my logic test age to see what I could do with the new plugin (1.3.0) and I noticed it first when I rendered it in blender and It showed, but then I exported it and it shows in URU aswell.

Could someone show what the logic properties are suppose to look like for preaty much a basic button to turn something on. I just wanted to see something thats working and see if I might of changed something or didn't put something in thats causing it.

Also remember to check that it has collision set. I've had the wizards make some un-usable regions on me.

I had the same problem, worked out that I had selected the "Draw" setting toggled as either "solid" or "shaded" in the object buttons pane

make sure that in the logic section, you make it:

string type: region

It should have that already if you're using the scripts to add a logic region. But if for some reason you've changed or removed that, you'll see this nice white cube (or what ever shape you made it) in the game!

well I've tried everything you guys suggested and even deleted it and redid it and I still see it when rendering and exporting. Oh I also had a question for the dev's around here since I know nothing about python and plasma in general.

What I'm wondering is can we do clickables with blenders logic panel. Using its sensors, controllers, actuators and converting them to plasma way of doing things? While thinking about this I found this page. I was just wondering and I understand that blender does change from time to time, but thought you guys have adapted to lots of changes lately anyway ;)

No clickables though game-logic stuff. Sorry. :(

It'd be easy only that most of the devs are... programming-oriented rather than GUI-oriented folks. It's pretty easy to set up an alc-script. If you have complex triggers you may want to have a python-triggering alc-script. If you're trying to do something common like a cam-region or footstep or triggered-sound, it should be easy to find some pre-fab code.

Hint: Nadnerb knows all about this.

/me is new pyprp-plugin dev <.<

Oh and, about getting values for game-logic-blocks into vars and then into plasma--it's VERY easy--happens all the time with game engine scripts. It's something like "blender.GameEngine.getAct()". :)
