Sit Mods

Postby andylegate » Sun May 25, 2008 8:08 am

I can't seem to get the sitting mod to work, so I must be doing something wrong. Here's what I'm doing:

I create a 2 x 2 cube, shift the center to the bottom of the cube, and rotate it with the Y axis facing away from where I want my avie facing to sit. I make it Convex with the bounds and an actor. I then put it flush with the ground, in the same spot of the chair my avie will appear to sit on (the chair has no bounds on it).

Then I make the click region for it, also making sure that the region has bounds on and actor.

then I add the ALCscripting EXACTLY like it is in the wiki tut, only changing the names of the object and regions.

Exports just fine.

Link in, and I can click on the seat, but not a darn thing happens.

I just tried this and it works fine for me using the default script.
I skipped the centering and rotation though. Maybe that is where something went wrong.

Edit: Hmm nope, still working with the center at the floor and rotated view. :?:

Just to be sure, are you referencing the sittingmod object and not your boundless chair?

Got it working......something to do with my indents being wrong. Boblishman straightened me out. Works great!

Oh, the facing rotation thing.....remember how in MOUL we all complained about when you sat, the camera would always face the front of the avie (not with the /sit command, but clicking on a sitable). Rotating the Y away makes you see in the same direction of your avie.

Glad you got it working. That leaves just one thing to complain... how can we undo the lock on the 3rd person view?

Actually, if you sat in the middle position on the bench in Relto, your camera faced the other direction.
The left and right positions were as you say.
