Poser?

Postby zib_redlektab » Sun Mar 29, 2009 6:49 pm

Just wondering, does anyone here know how to use Poser? Are any of those people free to do a little bit of work for a project I'm a part of? We need to make some NPCs for an uru age, and we honestly have no idea how

Alternatively, does anyone know of a good way to learn how to use Poser? Good tutorials or something?

I wish I could help. I recently got a copy of Poser and it looks greek to me. Of course I am not at a stage where I want to put NPC's in so its on the backburner on things I want to learn.

I have not used Poser for 5 years or so, but back then you did not really model in Poser. While it was possible its modeling options were somewhat limited. I don't know if that has changed.

What you did was download tons of free models from Poser websites and "morph" them into the character you needed. Models often come with pre-made morphs so it is usually a one click thing. Buying models (and even additional morphs/characters) is also quite common in the Poser community. For free models you could try sites like http://www.renderosity.com/ or http://www.daz3d.com/

How to get Poser animations into Blender/Uru is another story though. I don't know if that is possible.

Well, rigging and posing in Blender itself works perfectly well, but we haven't got bone animation in pyprp yet.
