Whites look gray?

Postby Lehm » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:06 am

Hey I just started fooling with blender again. The first time I loaded up my test age, I couldn't help but notice that the textures looked really dim. So I did an experiment where I created a white shadeless material in blender. Once in the game it distinctly looked gray. Is this normal or is there a way to make white textures white?

Hi Lehm, you might want to try modifying the base colour of the material, perhaps? =) (blender typically has materials less than pure white by default) and/or you can try playing with the material's shaders, etc. =)

I'm not /really/ sure how to best describe this unfortunately, so I hope you understand my poorly explained possibilities. If not, I can take screenshots and circle what I mean, because I can't think of how to word it. Or, of course, you could catch me in the #writers IRC channel. =)
