Gira uses plLayerSDLAnimation to display its Night/Day cycle based on Gira's AGETIMEOFDAY SDL variable.

Ok, here is my proof of concept for a Minkata type day/night toggle triggered by a clickable. The transition happens instantly for now. I may add the fancy effects such as fade out/in and fake link later.

Note: Make sure any link-in points are in a page that loads at link-in (mine is called Shared) otherwise you will end up in limbo.

The new version of my day-night swap demo includes link effects. It is available in the programmers section: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1129

You will also find instructions there.

Fascinating! This thread answers two of my biggest questions:
1. Can you have a variable that controls the display of certain objects?
(Yes!)
2. Can you make an on/off day night cycle for an Age?
(Yes!)
This is great! :)

Welcome to the Crystal Signature Series! If you plan to write crystals into your Age and you don't want the Maintainers inspecting your Age to fall into a lava-filled crack which formed as a result of the crystal-caused contradiction you unknowingly wrote into your Age, then be sure not to miss a single installment of this thrilling series! It will discuss the common myths and misinformation which have been perpetuated about crystals and answer questions about crystal shapes, properties, and methods of formation. This series will be aired right here in this very signature. Questions or comments about crystals or the content of this series may be directed to: the Crystal Corner. The Crystal Signature Series: Everyone else is reading it. Are YOU?
