sorry, misspoke....

"Footprints" is what I meant. I have not problems at all with footstep sounds.

but Footprints just does not work. Period.

Just like Visregions, just, don't, work for me, period.

Andy, do you have a material set for both RT and Pre mats?

And, try having them be different materials mapped to different object floating in space. Remember it's the name of the MATERIAL that matters not the name of the object-floating in space.

Yes, I had them both set.

And yes, I was using the name of the materila, not the object.

We also tried giving the object and the material the same names too, just to see what would happen, and yes, added the lifespan......

Works for everyone else, but not me, as though my Blender and PyPRP set up simply said: "No."

Just like Visregions, apparently they work for Robert, but they don't work for me. no idea, and no time right now to mess around with them. Look like I need to DL Blender 2.46 however with the things that will be released in the future. Maybe that will fix my problem. If it does, I'll post that it did.

Andy ... HERE is a Blend file of a simple Age I created for you ... (just a plane and some suns) ... with working footsteps .

The zip file includes the two textures ("concrete" for the ground & "footprint" for the decal) ... & the sequence prefix is 7000 ...

Try exporting it and see if they show up ... if they do, you can see all the settings I have on both the "ground" and the "footprint" ... as well as the alcscript ...
If they don't (and you ARE using the 1.4.0 release - not the nightly -) ... well, then at least you know the problem is your install(s) ...

Maybe this will help you solve the mystery ... (I hope so ... I hate seeing you so ...errr... frustrated ... ;) )
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

Thanks, just saw this,....as everyone has finally left the house to go visiting, I'll give it a whirl. My Age Building Time is VERY limited right now compared to what it was, with 3 new adults and my granddaughter in the house. Lots of work getting done. So for the next 3 weeks, don't be too surprised if I don't post a whole lot.

When I exported it and tried it, it didn't work for me. Absolutly no footsteps. What could be wrong with my install? And what is the 'nightly' version thing you were talking about? And do footprints only work in realese 1.4.0 of the plugin? And must you have Blender 2.46?
Fighting, Horrible disposition to others based on beliefs... What's the point anymore? Was there ever a point? Dead is what it is and always will be until peace is achieved through everyone.

yes ... dynamic footprints only work in the 1.4.0 version of the plugin ... but with both Blender 2.45 AND 2.46 ... they do NOT work using the "old" 1.3.x version of the plugin ...

- the "nightly" version of the plugin is the "unstable" most up-to-date-cutting-edge version which is released every night (- not recommended unless you are prepared for lots of testing & errors))

tested this last night, and yes, the foot prints worked.

Valdez, I'm using the 1.4.0 release of the plugin, and Blender 2.46

Sorry to barge in, but I'm interested in getting footprints and wavesets working, and I cannot find the 1.4.0 version of PyPRP anywhere- the latest version listed on the wiki is 1.3.1. Where could I get it? I'm currently using the nightly at the moment, and as Bob pointed out, it has a tendancy to crash.

Thanks,
