FWIW, I just tried adding a projection lamp and it worked just fine, with Blender PyPRP export and URU both on a WinXP machine with Gforce8800 (nv4_disp.dll v.6.14.011.6904) and DirectX 9.0c.

*returns from far far away*

I can confirm that exported projection lights work, of course, but I can also confirm that dox's light does not work for me. At the moment I have no idea why.

Edit: at the moment, the problem may lie with the floor material the light is supposed to be casting on.

I'm going out on a limb here but, I guess it's safe to assume that the exported PRPs being fully created by PyPRP should be identical regardless of the OS they're created with, right?

A thought cropped up on another thread, are you using a laptop at all?

No, this is a desktop PC.

What confuses me the most is that nobody can see the layer lamp, except for myself in Linux. I enabled advanced logging in the UruExplorer client and it tells me that everything loaded properly. :?

The lamp itself works fine, since I can see the shadow caused by it, and enabling it/disabling it affects the shadow. It's only the layer that isn't rendering on Windows machines.

I'm not taking the easy way out but I'm blaming this on a driver issue here. :(

[edit]
Under Windows having you noticed any missing layer lamps in other Ages? (Garrison folliage outside, Teledahn lamps shadows in upper shroom, Kadish folliage shadows on the ground etc)

I disagree. There is something in this particular setup of lamp and surface that is causing it to not render as expected. I don't know what it is yet, but I know it's minor, because it is close enough to work under one implementation of DX, but not under another. I DO blame the driver differences for the change, but the original cause still lies in the files, since other projection lights work, and this one doesn't.

So it could be something relating to, say DirctX 10, instead when the rest of us use DirectX 9?

Truly weird

I suppose it wouldn't show up on a shadeless material, if it's only the floor that is not affected, whereas the avatar and other objects are, but I seriously doubt something like that would slip under the noses of either Dox or Nad, much less both. :)

EDIT: ..and he DOES get a shadow. :7
