Now if we only found a way to make real bumpmaps.
Then those 2d hands on the table also slowly turned into 3d.
The hands of the writer, if Mr. Escher could see them, he would be proud.

but then my cup of tea would spill!! i think its better to keep if flat... haha.

I'm working away on the flowers still... I'm hoping they're not too high-poly... do I have a limit? haha! needs one more flower and about 5 more leaves, then some touching up to make sure they're all scaled correctly to one another. If you have any requests of things that need changing (i.e lower-poly, separating petals, etc.), Calena, let me know!

Everything looks great, especially the table top which turned out excellent. it seems a shame to put dishes on it so im gonna start working on some of Escher's other models for the garden and maybe the door for the House Tach added

By "House Tach added", do you mean there's another one? I'm glad you're satisified so far. I like it too.

Rhee - the flower is GREAT! Do you want me to put it in the existing vase, or would you prefer to model and arrange the entire thing yourself?

Sirius - if you'd like a different color to the sky, please send me either the RGB/HSV/CMYK numbers or a color sample. That's the only way I'll know what you have in mind. Also, I agree with you on the snow, but I haven't started on that yet. I'll cross that bridge when we get to it :P .

Now, are you all ready for this? Karkadann sent me REAL DOOR KNOBS! This is way more than I was expecting :D . They are Kewl(tm). There's still some tweaking to do with the crystal texture and the scale needs adjusted, but I think they're going to look exquisite. I used dynamic env maps rather than static because these doors will be animated. Without further ado -

DoorKnob1

DoorKnob2

DoorKnob3

I did some initial testing on an idea and I'll have a surprise or two for you guys, too.

I really have no right to complain about this...
You have a mortise style of handle and face-plate complete with keyhole for a skeleton key, but the latch shown on the edge of the door is a modern style of plunger without the bolt which is normally operated with the key.

You could argue that the keyhole is a dummy with nothing but wood behind it to avoid changing anything. I'll shut up now.

 Nice catch !
Well, some modern doors do not require a bolt for the key. When the door is locked, the handle simply won't move.

Postman must have wondered what was in the package he was carrying ! 8-)
Anyway, the handle looks great ! Good job Karkadann (and Calena, of course !).

Well, I'm not sure what would the proper color be, but since it looks like the weather is currently sunny, I assume the sky should be quite bright (especially at the horizon. Hem, forget about it: depending of the world, the horizon might be the zenith. Oh well).

This looks super cool, Calena and Karkadann, but the knob itself ... ahem, to put it mildly, doesn't really fit IMHO ... on another door in a different environment, yes ... Great job again, however ... :P

The problem is, there's no such color setting as "bright". The colors came from a real photo of a sky, I didn't make them up. I can change the hue, saturation, lightness and/or contrast. If you see a photo or something that illustrates what you have in mind you can post it and I'll see what I can do.

You can make the sky a bit transparant, make second sphere behind the existing one .
Tthen give this second spehere a (changing color) that can be done with animation, or ilumanation with lights.
I made a day and night cycle by changing the transparency of the first sphere slowly ,in the temple age.to let take the night over from day.
There are multiple ways to achieve it.
Just a suggestion.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

Thanks :). I would do the vase too, but it would seem a waste to not use the one that already exists. I'll see how my time goes.. i might add just a simple one if only to ensure i've got the scaling/arrangement right. Hoping i should get it done by Saturday evening! (i'd be done sooner but for some reason these two small children keep demanding that i feed them/change diapers/play peekaboo/etc!! lol)

Show Spoiler

in the drawing its on the lower left hand side, it seems to have a wood frame instead of just a top plate, and I am not sure whether the door is a rectangle and the arch is part of the door frame or is the top of the door round like the other two

also on the door hardware, if any one has a picture or some concept art of some door hardware that may look more appropriate..........
