just a quick note:

Having tried to use the "Follow active Quads" option ... you are right Christian, it works beautifully on a cylinder that has been extruded ... :)

... just one tip: BEFORE using this UV mapping option, the object must have been already unwrapped ... so it must have some existing uvmapping ... (or you get an error message)... So, if it is a brand "new" cylinder you are trying to unwrap, first just use "unwrap" ... and THEN use "follow active quads.

:x Oh no......I think it is time to give up my idea of a animated fountain. :x

Now I used the texture from your wiki and I do all you told me. Ok now it is transparent and the animation works in the correct direction. That sounds good.....but take a look at may new pictures. I don't know what to do anymore.

That's because you have to set the passindex for your transparent texture. Bob mentions it on the other thread where you posted: Odema 2 released.
Here is some more to read: Wrong Transparency
If you search for "passindex" on the forum you can find more information, it's only a bit tedious to find what you need to know.

The tip from Corvus was the last one I needed to fix my problem.
Look.....now eveything is looking and working good........for the falling water.

Now I start to animate the water plane from outside to inside.

Ok...at first....sorry if I annoy you all with my fountain.

The falling water is ok. Now the problems are on the plane. I'll try many textures and it never work. So I say to me....you have the one of the falling water....and I use that also for the plane. However ??? I find a way to get the correct animtion....and now the same texture isn't transparent anymore.
I only set the passindex to 2 because the falling water ist set to 1.
For the falling water I also use ztrans on. If I do it for the plane....it is away....nothing to see. So I make ztrans off......and now it is very dark and not transparent.

I assume that the "plane" is the surface of the water at the bottom of the waterfall .... as shown here ...

One question springs to mind ... have you assigned the SAME material to the plane as to the water ? (you would not need to re-UVmap ... but make sure you select the correct texture in the UV window if you change it)

(and/or have you tried setting the plane to the SAME (the same PassIndex and Ztrans on) as the water?)

The falling water and the water circle are not the same material, because they need another IPO Curve. If I use the ztrans on for the water circle I can't see it. It looks like it is away.

I tryed so many things now.......I don't know what to do now. Please give me a chance to send you my blend file, so that you see what is in it. It is to big to attach it.

The wonder happened.......The ztrans is off, the passindex is 1 and I found another button (see in picture).

I never use that for the falling water, but I try it for the water circle and it works. After it I made the texture a little bit darker...and now it is fine....for me.

Hey, that looks cool :)
When can we test this out? :D
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
