My thoughts exactly. :P Anyway, I at least want the new Nexus to look a little different from the official one.
Note: I had to say that due to the fact MYSTlore is licensed under a cc-by-nc license. I've removed the picture anyway.

If you want to do categories - start by listing your categories - at putting all currently released ages into them - that should be your first goal, because if it turns out that's not feasible - you'll need to design differently.

You'll also need to confer with the Writers of those Ages, at least those that are still around. ;)

If the writers disagree - you'll need to move it.

Well, you try putting Janga into a single category. It's not possible! I also wish there was a "Age Developer Chat" forum where you could post bug reports and contact Age developers, right now everyone puts that under "Drizzle and the Offline KI".

Well, Chloe didn't really "figure out" scrollbars. Chloe discovered there was scrollbar like functionallity once upon a time in Uru. Wether or not it actually works remains to be seen as I didn't ever get around to testing it. I'm assuming since it's still in each version of Uru it probably works.

I think it would work better using Tweek's functionality (which includes scroll bars!), because that includes a concept I had in the back of my mind, "Build Your Own Bevin"!
kaelisebonrai wrote:And what about those Ages not submitted to Dustin? - I know I have no intentions of directly releasing through UAM. =) And Tweek mostly just releases on Beneath. - And I doubt Whilyam would release by submitting to Dustin - Nor would SubRest, if we ever release anything. =P

You don't /have/ to submit ages to Dustin to release stuff, you know.

I said that because Dustin is the one who runs the most popular Age list, and, since ULM isn't used that much anymore, Drizzle is one of the only major Age distributors. But, perhaps we can require a category in order for the Age to be shown properly, or, there's always the "Other Ages" or "No Specified Category" idea  !

First of all: like I sad in here, an age could be putted in more than one category.

And secendly: easy. For Janga it might be:
Explorable
Huge
Huge explorable

/me is kind of confused as to why you branched off into a new thread.
I'll post this over there, but we have a texture for the Writer's logo, we just need to get in contact with whoever built the Writer's Niche.

Really, this idea was started at http://forum.guildofwriters.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=4888. It was apparently branched off to this thread.

Thanks.

What I did here was merged a bit of Gahreesen's Nexi with the normal Nexus. Then I added some guild banners and logos to get the point across that it was a Nexus belonging to the GoWs. The imagers, the plan I had for them was that one of them would could be used to upload KI pics for personal viewing, while the other would be tied to a inbox variable in the vault that shard owners could edit. This way they could change whatever was in the inbox and everyone would see it in their Nexus. That imager could be used for shard announcements like new age releases etc.

Um, that texture... It'd be better to make our own - after all, that texture was just a matter of using the DniDings font, by the looks of it =)

Sounds like a good idea!

Regarding Categories: I meant the part of categorizing the ages, not the technical realization. I never was really satisfied with the partial categorization I came up with. Having multiple categories per book is certainly a good idea - in web 2.0 speech, we would call that "tags" ;-)
I also agree that categories should not be tied to a specific age distribution method. This however leads to the more general question of how that Nexus age list is managed - the Offline KI could be extended to handle that, but maybe it is better to manage the ages in the wiki or some web interface, and only extract the Offline KI info out of that.

Also, it's really confusing to have two threads on this topic...
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
