A little age in developement

If you feel like you're up to the challenge of building your own Ages in Blender or 3ds Max, this is the place for you!

I would probably suggest keeping the brick floor or using something similar.

There is a lot going on with the textures, very busy lots of details (In my opinion I would probably say to much) and the brick floor is a simple looking texture which helps balance it out somewhat.

Yes, i agree with you Tweek.
I will try to avoid to much little details, i change some texturees over time, when i found or made others.

The last days i made some decals.
It was more difficult then i expected, i could not find good ivy 's on alpha layers.
They al have logo's in them.
That's why i had to mask the myself.

I am experimenting to find the good shapes.

Here is a screenshot.

Wow!!! This becomes more and more awesome and inviting ... and what a difference nature or just greens make ... :P

There are many details, but that is the beautiful style and also culture, and when I look at 'the whole' there is
a wonderful harmony now as of the colors and structures etc. and the plants round off the overall design and
impression ... I'd say great job so far, dendwaler, and thanks again for sharing ... :)

I decided today that the temple needs an " outside".
I will place the temple on a hill in a valey in a mountain area.

This is the shape i will initianally use for it.

Image

In the coming week it will look more natural after i pushed and pulled some faces.

The walking area is the flat area on the top .On that area the temple will be placed.
On the edges of the circle i plan to make mountains.
May be i shape them , may be it is not necessary because its far away.

I already made a first impression as you can see.

Its clear that the temple is far from ready , lots has to be done because the outside does not have textured faces yet.

That is it for this weekend , next week more!

I know i have been posting this before.

But i want to show the importance of normal baking once more.

In the next picture i have two copy's of an ornament .
They are not realy textured yet only some coloring .
I did nothing on lightning as described in some of the tutorials on this site.

I only baked normals, by using UV lightmapping to unwrap.
Then i saved the multicolored result after baking the normals to it.
Then , translated the result in an external program to greyvalues.
Finaly i used it as a texture and multiplied it with the first layer.
The first layer is the layer with the main texture.

Judge for yourself and if you want to try I will bet ,.....you can't get this result with Vertex painting so easily.

Looks nice, dendwaler, though I don't know what you're expecting to hear from us ... If it ought to be
something technical, I'm not the one to count on lol, but it's nice to watch you experimenting nonetheless ... :D

Are those supposed to serve as flower, water or a fountain bowls? ... The gras and mountain surroundings,
even if still in a basic design state, look already beautiful as well ... :)

Thx, for your kind reply Janaba.

yes its a bit technical , its a lightning technic that is not supported by PyPRP1 but this is a workaround that works awfully good.
I only try to make other writers aware of that because this is never been done before in any fan age.
If wanted i will make a wiki tutorial for it.
So i did not realy aspect any answer.

The ornaments will probably contain fire in it . An offering place may be.
I have textured them as you can see on the next picture.

The grass and mountains are ...hmmm placeholders it wil change dramatically.

Further i have made an outside wall.
The floor is changed by adding a new layer to change the collor range of the same texture.
I made soundregions and implemented the first sounds.

Pojibonzai made beautifull sounds, which you will hear when the age is finished.
He made it realy " Tailored" for this age comparable to the sound quality and style we are used to have in URU.

Well here is today's view:

Nice work. I can't wait to see more of this, especially after lighting and everything has been implemented.
