Now, I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read somewhere ... ahhh HERE that...

Nadnerb wrote:Materials: Materials in blender default to double sided. This property is now read by the plugin. The "double sided" button is found in the edit buttons area.

hmmm... I have set my 'music box' (well, at the moment is just an open cylinder ...now, come on, I'm not gonna spend hours modeling until I know the feature actually works!! ... :D ) to doublesided in blender ...

I believe that particular "Double Sided" button refers to collision or normals.

Your mesh is not double sided as far as textures go. To enable double-sided textures go into Face Edit Mode (FKEY), select all the faces, and click "Twoside" then "Copy DrawMode" in the Edit Buttons. It will then display with textures on both sides in both Blender and URU.

Let us know!

Ah! This is good info! And makes things easier!

Lucky me has not had to make anything that was "Twoside" yet!

(you probably guessed ... it works! (this is the same mesh as before...)

This is going to save polygons (yes, I know from previous projects I worked on that it's not often you can get away with this technique in modeling ... but every little helps. (One example that springs to mind is Andy's fence in CampBravo ;) ... oh, and foliage too, like the small bushes in the Cleft)

oh, and yes, whilst I was waiting for a reply, I learned to stencil the ground ... how neat is THAT feature!! :P :P :P

Oh dear. I should update that post. That was written immediately after the new plugin release, when this feature actually WAS tied to that button. It was changed (at my request, ironically) to a button that didn't default to on, and which made more sense from a texturing point of view.

Yes, I think whoever writes a part of the Wiki should keep it current.

You'll note that it is correct in the wiki now, and that bob linked to a forum post, which I would not have changed otherwise.

Hmm... this does not work in the stable 0.5 version, right? Looks like I finally have a reason to upgrade. ;)
