Proportional Editing Question.

Okay, I got something screwy going on here.......

Way back when I first started creating Camp Bravo, I created a large grid for my ground. To put in some dips and humps, so the ground wouldn't look so linier, I used Proportional Editing of the mesh. It worked great.

Now, I'm taking my Night Time Camp Bravo, and making it back to day time again, with the new plugin. It's going to replace the current Daytime Camp Bravo.

While I'm here, I decided to redo my ground. So I created a very large plane, and have cut it up into sections, so that I've got better control both for sculpting and for texturing.

Now, I need to do some proportional editing again. But when I tried it, it's not working! I even went back and looked at the Blender Noob to Pro tutorial. I'm doing what it says, but it's still not working. Here's what I'm doing:

Go to edit mode with the mesh. Select the vertex you want. Turn proportional editing to on by click on the circle that turns orange, and the button next to it to set the fall off. I've done that.
Next, with your cursor in the 3d window, hit the G-key for moving, and you're suppose to get a circle, who's radius you can change with your mouse wheel to encompass the verticies around the one you selected you want to move with it, and you move your mouse around.
Except when I hit the G-key, no circle is popping up, and it's only letting me move the vertex I selected, as thoug Proportional editing is off.
So what da heck is going on?

EDIT: Nevermind! Figured it out! For some reason, my circle was appearing, but it was sooooooooo small that I had to roll my mouse wheel many times, before it became visable! Apparently at some point, I had rolled it to that small without realizing it! So everything is working great now.

Heh, yeah, that happens. Blender always remembers the states of your editing tools, so things will always be how you left them, even several days later. While useful, this can cause some funny moments later when you don't remember how you left things. :P

By the way, I love the sound in your latest camp bravo. Best (and most prolific) use of sound I've seen in an age so far. I have a few niggles with the age, mostly normals, texture alignment, and (surprise) lighting issues, but even so, with the sound, it's still one of the most immersive and atmospheric ages I've seen.

Thanks for the complements Nadnerb! They mean a lot.

As for the things that could look better...... kinda was in a rush to get it out, and it's my 2nd Age.

I'm redoing the Daytime version (so that the lamp posts are there, and sounds) and I'm taking the opertunity to try and fix some of my textures here and there.

The 3rd Age I'm building will be a LOT better. I'm taking my time and acutally using the new plugin's ability to blend textures, stencils, etc. So far what I've got looks even better than Camp Bravo!
This one is going to be bigger, more places to go, and I'm trying to make it look on par with Riven. heheh, I know, I know, that's the golden ring in the sky, to make your Age look that good. But I've found that with a little bit of patients and time, you can make stuff look that good.

Looking forward to the new Daytime CampBravo. (you know I love the nightime version!)
You might want to make sure your link in point is at ground level (I hate that drop when you arrive ... I'm not good with falling, could break a hip at my age ;) ) and also set your Ztrans Offset on the pool water (and some of the other transparancy objects) to 3 (currently it does not show the avatar through the water, he looks like he's swimming through a thick blue soup ... lol ).
I'm only mentioning these because they are not mentioned in the Answers journal.
(Also, if you use D'Lanors Version 2 scripts for the books, you will be able to have different covers on them.)

I can't wait to see Age3 ... Riven-like hey? ... hope there's a ride in there ;) - small hint to the plugin developers for more animation!

Ah. Maybe that's the answer to one of the things bugging me. I wonder if I can find the other if I look far enough back....
