Adding footstep sounds

I get a little bit confused how this is explained in the Wiki.
I added a region, named it, and added the AlsScript code.
According to the lesson I have to delete the text settings so I did.
Exported the age, but there was no sound, only the region was visible.
Then I removed the AlcScript and add the text properties again ("the old way").
Now I hear the sound and the region is invisible.
Why is the old way working and the new way not or did I forgot something?

Fritz, if you are using Alcscript for your footsteps, only delete the Surface setting under the text of the region, deleting all the logic properties will erase the fact that its a region, at least I think.

I don't usually go into alcscript with the my footstep regions. I stick with the text properties as its easier to just change the surface property than to write out the alcscript for a region.
