Damaged Age Journals/books

Postby Kierra » Wed Nov 14, 2007 2:51 am

At some point in the future I was hoping to be able to add some journals to my Ages, but I would like to have some journals with damaged pages...as far as I know only intact pages are available to us.

Besides using faded text to accomplish the damaged text effects, does anyone know how we could implement damaged pages....for example, torn out, burnt, stained, etc?

I think having these options available to age building would be very useful for storyline purposes.

Since journals have a specific command (showNoteBook or showBook), I assume that is not easy to do. Decals would be a solution, but the Alcugs Wiki notes that they don't work yet. Is this still the case? They might work on pages, because those are given textures (instead of the cover texture that is defined seperately).

Would it be possible to use one big (page size) image and overlay text. I mean put the burned texture on top of the page texture? Using a second image on top would not be possible in this case, since decals don't work.

Another question, related to this one, can we make single pages? Like the Relto pages and other single page letters like in the Cleft?

Somewhere in this forum I have seen a thread describing how to put images in a journal. It does work.
** Edit: I'm stupid. It's right at the top in the tutorials.
