On the first page of adding sounds it talks about adding a page_num property to your newly created emitter object.

I have figured out you do this on the Logic panel and that you

Now if this were going into an Ahra Pahts shell I assume you would use your shell number as the page_num value but what value do I add if this is a new age and not an Ahra Pahts shell Is the page_num property still required?

for a new age, you generally won't need to add this value. (until you start adding pages) Objects without a page_num value default to page 1, which defaults to "mainRoom". In short, no.
