UV-Mapping question

Hi, my friends.

I have a problem to texture the object that you can see in the attachment.
The mushroom is unwrapped. I want to use another texture layer to blend the textures between the top of the mushroom and the trunk.
My problem: If I choose "Cylinder from View" for the selected faces (there should the alpha texture get placed) it also changes the unwrapped faces of the first texture to "Cylinder from View". Unwrapped UV-Map gets lost. How can I turn it off?

Anyone can help please? Thank you. :)

Jonee, you need to create a second UVLayer. hit f9, and in that where it says UVTexture hit the "New" button, this will create a second layer underneath UVTex. Now you name this new layer to something unique (like Alpha or whatever you want) and UV Map this layer to the correct setting. you'll notice two buttons next to the layer, clicking on these will switch between the two uv layers (and to switch back you click the ones next to the other) so the top layer you can unwrap, and the bottom is your cylinder from view.

(Also, when you texture it, in the mapto section of the textures, where it says "UV" whichever texture will have the "Cylinder from view" layer, you'll need to put that unique name you gave your UV texture here.

Also, depending on your version of Blender, once you've created your UV layer and named it, you can switch between them in the UV Editor window (where you map your uv to your texture, there is a drop down menu that shows you the layer you're currently on, if you click on this it will give you each of the UV Layers that the object has, so that you can switch between them with relative ease)

Everything is fine. I can work with it. :P
I'd prefer a german blender version for myself. That would make things easier sometimes. ;)
