Wrong Transparency

Postby Justintime9 » Mon Mar 30, 2009 2:06 pm

I've noticed that in my age, when I create a nicely transparent water texture, I can't see bottom part of objects submerged in water. Instead, I see the objects that are inside the object submerged.

As you can see, the ladder inside my building it visible through the water, but not the side of the building as it should be. Anyone know what's causing this?

(welcome to the world of PassIndex )... you need to set the PassIndex of your transparent water material (press F7 to find the PaddIndex box ... set it to 1 ... and you may have to increase it if it is not working as you want it)
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

That worked for the most part, but the one object I wanted it to work on the most, didn't work (the building in my picture). First I set the water to 1, then 2. Neither worked. How high do I have to set it before it works? Btw, just out of curiosity, what is Passindex, and what's it supposed to be used for?
