No, not really.
Hoikas is just being Hoikas: abrupt, etc, etc.
He is correct that if I have information, I should try to post so that it helps others here too (IE no keeping information secret when possible, and share with everyone, so everyone can learn how to do it).
It's just that Christopher had already emailed me before he made his post here, and the best way to help him was to share some files I'm working on, and it was easier to email them (they are close to 10 MB in size) as an attachment than to post file links here (especially since I don't have FTP access to a storage server anymore. I turned over all my GoMa stuff to those that are there now).
In truth, how to do avatar clothing is very LONG and drawn out. It's one of the hardest things to do IMHO for Uru.
Explaining how to make Takeable Clothing is not really suited for a Forum post (it would take several to get through it all), and is much better suited as a Wiki article. Even a video tutorial on it will take several videos to do. You can't just use any texture. Each body part needs a special sized and mapped out texture (or else the plugin will reject it).
Skinning the avatar (IE applying the clothing mesh over the avatar bones) can be a very "head pounding against the screen" experience.
Setting up the Morph's and the XRef to the bas.avatar.smooth files is a pain too.
Then there is setting up the materials for each piece of clothing (that you don't apply to any mesh, only the avatar pallette get's applyed to any mesh), and making sure you have the text in the python box set up correctly (the Clothing group, etc, etc).
And the fun don't stop there. Once you get all that done for the Male avie, you have to do it again the the Female avatar, who has different dimensions, and will need different envelope editing.
THEN there is what you have to do in your Age, which is setting up the xTakableClothing.py python file. You have to type in all the names of the materials for each part of the clothing in the rollout for both Male and Female.
Last is this: You're going to need a MOUL type server to test what you've made on. It won't work correctly in Uru:CC or Alcugs, as the avatar is different in MOUL (and Cyan's plugin is set up for MOUL). You can get some of the clothing to work in Uru:CC (I got some pants to work, but the shirt? Ha! I looked like some mutant Bahro!).
But the above shouldn't be too much of a problem now with OS, as I imagine that there are going to be people who can test their clothing creations soon, if not already with the GoW fork up and going.
I'm sorry guys, but a tutorial on this will have to wait, as it's not as easy as a lot of other stuff, and will take me a long time to write. If you don't believe me on how hard it is, just ask GPNMilano. It's involved.
