Export Error

Postby ZURI » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:11 pm

Hey everyone! I've been rebuilding Eder Taygahn and recieved an error message that I can't seem to track down.

Anyone know what this means?

BTW, ignore the cursor placement. Didn't realize it was there until after uploading the screenshot.

There is probably an object with too many vertices. See viewtopic.php?f=59&t=4149

@D'Lanor - my friend, you were correct. I had thought about that being the problem earlier... but it just doesn't make any sense.

During the rebuild, the whole point has been to remove and replace all of the noob-models with non-so-noob-models. So, in the process - I had removed around 25k faces from the age. During this time, I didn't add in any models over 1k faces. I had also gone through and replaced most of the high-res textures with smaller versions.

So, when I started getting the export error - I started looking for the obvious - such as objects with incorrect alcscript... and/or objects missing materials, etc. After reading your post (as well as the one you reference), I went back into the blend and deleted the 2 largest objects. One was around 4k faces and the other 2k. Both of these have been in the age for about a year (and both are in the playable version on Drizzle/UAM/DI etc).

After deletion, it now exports correctly and plays.

I sincerely thank you for your input. Do you have any idea what could have caused this chain of events? I'm stumped... It just doesn't seem to jive. :?
