Light- and Meshanimations

Postby Christopher » Fri Nov 11, 2011 2:05 am

I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to animate the intensity and color of a Plasma RT Light?
2. Is it possible to export a meshanimation, for example a "Morph Modifier" with the plugins?

I hope you can help me.

Colour can definitely be animated. I'm not sure about intensity... usually you could fake that by changing the alpha value of the colour.

I think you have to do this with bones/rigging, and then animate the bones.

You can animate a Plasma RT light's position, rotation, diffused color, Multiplier and attenuation distance, there is no "intensity" for you to animate on it directly, but you can use the other things to achieve that. However, make sure you go into Key Filters and turn everything on, your you won't see your animation.

AFAIK the Morph Mod is for clothing and the avatar only. It works with other plasma keys, I have no idea if it would work with standard mesh objects however.

I don't mean the Morph component from plasma. I mean the Morph Modifier in the Modifier tap, which can smothly transform one object into an other. But thanks for the tips about the lights.

I don't think it will export, only position, rotation, scaling and materials.

But! There is no reason why you can't make a quick "test room" age and make something quickly and give it a try, see what happens. Best way in the world to learn. :D

I tried it, but it don't seem to work :(
Has anyone another idea how to animate the Mesh of an object without using bones?

you can part the mesh into several new objects.
every new objects can have 1 different animation.
The problem is, that it is not as "smooth" as with rigging bones, because there is no deformation.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.
