2.49 gfx problem

Postby bnewton81 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 12:35 am

I know I have posted a thread about this already, but I doubt anyone will see if I add to that one. I am fairly certain that the problem I am having in 2.49 with the GUI jumping into and out of perspective is caused by a setting in CCC (Catalyst Control Center). Which is the program console that controls my ATI 5570 1gig card. If anyone can give me any clue as to what to change to make this better I'd be eternally greatful. I'm now working with a team on some ages and they all use 2.49 and we're having issues working between 2.6 and 2.49.

I was having a crazy blurry interface in Windows Live Mail and found that it was something in the CCC doing it, so this leads me to believe that is probably what is messing with blender too.

Try to switch off Anti-Aliasing generally in the CCC.

man CCC is complete crap. I have it set so that applications control AA, but there is no way to disable it completely. Half the settings in CCC, if changed, will completely turn disable the display and cause me to have to reboot in safe mode to reset it to factor settings. Well maybe not half, but I just turned off gpu scaling and that caused it. I will never again put an ATI card in a computer. NEVER. I never had any problems like this with Nvidia. If I try to use the grease pencil at all in 2.49 it puts it in perspective, but not really in perspective. I mean blender is not in perspective mode, but it looks like it is. Also the pencil draws far below where the mouse cursor is.

I have no problems at all in 2.6. Is there a way to easily get models from 2.6 to 2.49. Anytime I try it I get a message saying I'm trying to load a 250 file or something and it doesn't open it. Also it corrupts the original file.

Finally it seems to be fixed. I think it was the AA settings for the ati card as Tach suggested. I changed them recently to Multi-something AA from super-something AA and that seams to have done it. Thank GOD! er the Maker. lol

See your other thread about the same issue.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.
