Tweeks GUI Concepts in action

Postby GPNMilano » Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:02 pm

As promised over at the New Content thread. I'm posting some pictures of the work I've done on bringing Tweek's GUI concept to life. Mind you this is a current work in progress. There's still alot that needs to be done with the making the button borders correct, fixing some of the colors and most of all the Text for the buttons. But I wanted to share and see what people think so far. I had to take my own background shot for the Cleft as I don't have access to Tweek's unaltered one, so it's not gonna look EXACTLY like the concept. Remember work in progress.

Wow Nice, definitely a new twist on an old theme.
Keep up the good work

Looks awesome, but one question: Will the avatar of the player also be shown? I tried to make something like this, but wasn't able. If you find a solution for this I would be interested in it.

I haven't yet looked at getting the avatar of the player to appear on the login screen yet. I was saving that for last. I'll post some pictures later tonight of the progress on how it looks a week later.

@ GPNMilano:

your "Delete" functionality is very clever.

How many buddies I have that one day appeared in Cavern very sad and trying to rebuild their whole buddies list because of a "distraction" of them or just a non-intentional action of a small human being living with them ;) ?

A lot.

Type in "DELETE". You cannot tell afterward: "I was distracted!". If the little boy or girl is able to type in "DELETE" then he or she is old enough to understand its meaning also.

Yeah. I wish I could take credit for that but that was part of Tweek's design concept. Which I agree is very clever and hopefully should accidental deletions.

Thread moved to the correct forum. Please keep posts about new ages, code, etc in the appropriate forums. A post in Gehn saying "<blank> is done, how can I get it on the shard" or "I'd like to work with you guys on <blank>" is totally OK, but general announcements and WIP threads are not.

It would be better to type the explorer's name than 'delete', so that you're sure people delete the right character.

With my not-a-moderator hat on: I do have lots of feedback on this, and I'll try to find time to write up my thoughts sooner than later.
