Hi,

I wonder if someone has a solution for my problem.
I'am creating a world in 3dsmax and i made some plants and I using alpha's for it, you know two planes and they are crossed.
On the picture I took you can see that weird effect it gets when you look at a certain height (I'am standing on a stair) and the background is a ocean made with the water compound in Plasma.

I tryed the Z no write in the material editor, no effect and also with the Z only read and it did'nt work also, i got only strange effects with these marked.
Does anyone has a answer for me?

IIRC, they need to be placed in the correct DrawSpans (order is really important for transparent textures and other effects). I'm not sure how this is managed in 3DSMax, though. :(

Make eure you Set "Output blending" to "Alpha" in your plasma material.

I had a similar problem with a pond and a fountain, the pond water being transparent like your ocean and the particles from the fountain like your plants where not
Unless the pond was behind the particles like your ocean is behind your plants
I tried setting Output Blending to Alpha with no luck and I could never figure out what correct DrawSpans where in Max

just out of curiosity I added the Fountain as a separate prp file and that solved the problem.
a bit late ill admit but its another solution for someone with a similar problem if the first two don't work
